Terms of Court and General Information
- Term of Court begins on the second Monday in February, April, June, August, and December; and the third Monday in October

- Recordation of deeds is available in person, mail, or by e-recording. Recording hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, except on legal holidays. Clients are encouraged to submit deed recordings electronically to avoid traveling to the Clerk's Office. - Financial transactions are accepted by the Clerk's Office Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Online payment of criminal fines and costs can be made 24/7 but will be processed during normal business hours.
- Marriage license information is available at (https://www.loudoun.gov/clerk); Marriage license applicants can schedule an in-office appointment or a virtual appointment to obtain their marriage license.
- Notary public commissions can be issued once you receive your confirmation, by letter/email, from the Secretary of the Commonwealth by scheduling an in-office appointment or a virtual appointment. - All visitors to the courthouse are subject to security screening by Sheriff's deputies which currently requires special COVID-19 safety protocols, including a temperature scan, before visitors may enter the courthouse.
- Mobile devices and cellphones with cameras are not permitted in the Courts Complex by order of the Court. Attorneys who are members of the State Bar are permitted to bring one cellphone with camera functionality in the Courts Complex and the Sheriff's deputies may request bar identification. Otherwise, no cameras are permitted in the Courts Complex. - Scheduling for civil trials will be conducted by phone scheduling every Monday and Tuesday at 9 a.m. Civil matters may be placed on the phone scheduling docket by the filing of a Civil Phone Scheduling Praecipe.
