Continuance Policy
Continuances granted by Clerk or Judge on written motion in accordance with Rules of Court and local continuance policy. The court will grant ONE CONTINUANCE on an initial hearing if the request is made 28 days or less from the date of service. All additional petitions and/or motions filed in a pending cause that has been scheduled for an initial hearing will be set for the same date and time as the initial pleading, however, this will not constitute an automatic continuance. Request must be made in writing with notice to counsel of record and/or unrepresented parties. All other continuance requests may be granted either by agreement between counsel and/or unrepresented parties or with leave of the court. Counsel or unrepresented parties shall be solely responsible for re-issuing witness or document supboenas (supboenas duces tecum). Counsel and parties shall recognize that if the matter is continued it will not be rescheduled on an expedited basis but shall be set on the next available docket.
